Club GAR was formed to provide a structured opportunity for persons interested in firearms to learn competitive shooting skill and defensive shooting skills in an enjoyable club atmosphere. The first home of Club Gar was the Comrette Outdoor range where the team did mainly IPSC drills. Thoughts of an indoor alternative immediately formed, and eventually happened in 2009, when the indoor range at Bois d' Orange was completed.

Walk 4 A Cause

GAR’s team has raised funds through various means for various charities most notably through Walk 4 A Cause over the last 8 years. Walk 4 A Cause is an annual fun walk that starts at the Vigie round-about and ends at the Club GAR indoor shooting facility at Mongiraud. The aims of the walk are to encourage fitness, community spirit and responsibility and, most importantly, to give time and raise funds for important causes and charities.

 ‘Walk 4 A Cause’ is a non-profit event and 100% of funds raised go directly to the chosen cause or charity. Funds have been raised for the St. Lucia Blind Welfare, the Cadet Corps, World Pediatric Project, The St. Lucia Diabetic and Hypertensive Association, Cerebral Palsy Association and the Women’s Support Shelter. Over the last 2 years, given the corona virus pandemic, Walk 4 A Cause could be not be held however the team decided to raise funds during the Christmas holidays to provide food hampers for those families who were affected by the pandemic. To date the Club has raised over $400,000 to various charities across the island.
